For the past three years the Festival has been housed temporarily at the Aqueduct at Rose Hall, which requires putting in major infrastructure for each staging, at significant cost to the Festival. With the growth of the Festival, loss of our parking facilities due to the construction of a convention centre on the main parking site near the Aqueduct, there was the need for a permanent home.
With the move, we have addressed these issues.
2. Why was it not announced sooner?
We were not able to announce the move until we could finalize negotiations with the stadium’s management
3. Will patrons need to sit in the stands?
Sitting in the stands will be optional to patrons as we are presenting the festival in the similar layout as previous years
4. Is there sufficient parking?
There is on site parking to facilitate in excess of 3500 vehicles
5. Is the venue secure?
The venue is completely secured with chain link fencing but this will still be enhanced by our own security team
6. I booked at Rose Hall so I wouldn’t have to drive, how are you planning to make up for the fact that the venue is no longer next door?
For those already booked at Rose Hall, we will be providing a shuttle service from the hotel to venue on the hour, pre-show, and every 30 minutes during show time.
7. Will there be shuttle services from all hotels in Montego Bay?
As usual, tour operators will offer transfers from every hotel to the venue. Remember it is only 12 minutes away.
8. What are the advantages of the new venue?
More space, closer parking, optional permanent seating
9. How far is the venue when you turn off the main road?
200 yds to the parking lots
10. What is the drive time from all the major hotels in Montego Bay?
10 mins from Lilliputt
15 mins from Ironshore
40 mins from Freeport
